DÉMARCHE ARTISTIQUE
C’est dans une approche performative et pluridisciplinaire que notre collectif Poésie et Autres Absurdités Contemporaines développe sur le thème de l’absurde en art. L’aspect poétique, voire même dépoétique, de notre travail se caractérise par la contamination des œuvres des unes sur celles des autres, à la manière d’une correspondance constante entre nous trois : on s’influence, on s’enrichit, on se nuit et on s’inspire mutuellement.
L’utilisation d’archives, personnelles ou non, nous sert de matériel de base pour concevoir des projets à la fois sensibles et ridicules. Nous prenons plaisir à altérer photographies, enregistrements sonores et vidéos de nos annales personnelles, puisque la nouvelle lecture qui en découle amène de nombreux enjeux novateurs.
It is in a performative and multidisciplinary approach that our collective Poésie et Autres Absurdités Contemporaines develops on the theme of the absurd in art. The poetic, even depoetic aspect of our work is characterized by the contamination of the works of one on those of the other, in the manner of a constant correspondence between the three of us: we influence, enrich, harm and inspire each other.
The use of archives, personal or not, serves us as basic material to conceive projects that are both sensitive and ridiculous. We take pleasure in altering photographs, sound recordings and videos from our personal annals, since the new reading that results brings many innovative issues.
BIO DU COLLECTIF
Le collectif PAAC naît de la rencontre entre Marie-Pier, Stéphanie et Annabelle, alors que celles-ci sont au baccalauréat en arts visuels et médiatiques à l’UQÀM, dans le cours commun Le performatif : de l’art action à la création de situation. Après avoir participé conjointement au colloque de performance Hexagram : L’humain qui vient/ l’humanité qui ouvre 2020, le collectif PAAC prend goût à l’exploration du rire, du ridicule et du touchant. Il poursuit dans cette lignée dans le cadre de l’exposition étudiante Paramètre XX, avec son œuvre La Terre tourne sur le bon boooord. Il réalise ensuite l’exposition PAAC.DUEL, réunissant l’ensemble de son travail, à la Galerie Popop en juin 2021.
The PAAC collective was born from the encounter between Marie-Pier, Stéphanie and Annabelle, while they were studying for their bachelor’s degree in visual and media arts at UQÀM, in the common course Le performatif : de l’art action à la création de situation. After participating in the performance colloquium Hexagram: L’humain qui vient/ l’humanité qui ouvre 2020, the PAAC collective developed a taste for the exploration of laughter, the ridiculous and the touching. They continued in this direction in the student exhibition Paramètre XX, with their work La Terre tourne sur le bon boooord. He then produced the exhibition PAAC.DUEL, bringing together all of his work, at the Galerie Popop in June 2021.
